Born and raised in East Los Angeles, California, Olga García Echeverría has shared her cucaracha-obsessed-Spanglish poesía throughout the Southwest, in Nueva York, Minneapolis, North Carolina, Mexico City, Cuba, and France. Her first book, Falling Angels: Cuentos y Poemas, was published by Calaca Press and Chibcha Press in 2008. |

 Michael Cheno Wickert, a former City College student, earned both his B.A. in English and his M.F.A. in creative writing from San Diego State University. Out of high school, he worked as a painter, carpenter, and pipe fitter throughout the shipyards of Southern California. A former elementary school teacher for 12 years, he now teaches English composition and teacher education courses at Southwestern College. He lives in Chula Vista with his wife Denise and his son Julian. Creatively he explores how the personal and political collide in everyday life. |
